How to Stop Next.js 16 from Freezing Your Older PC (Linux & Windows)
Next.js 16's default Turbopack settings assume a modern multi-core machine with an SSD — on an older dual-core laptop with a mechanical HDD, npm run dev can max out the CPU and freeze the whole desktop. Here's the two-phase fix: capping worker threads, then routing .next onto a RAM disk.
